Gerald Fauth
Gerald Fauth studied at the University of Dresden (Master Class of A. Webersinke). After graduating, he completed additional studies with M. Pletnyov and L. N. Vlassenko at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. From 1987 to 1990, he was master student at the Academy of Arts in Berlin. He has won several first prizes in high-ranking international competitions. In 1992, he was appointed Professor for Piano and Chamber Music at the University in Berlin. Since 2001, he has lectured at the University of Leipzig. As soloist he has made several guest appearances with distinguished orchestras. From 1987 to 2014, he gave several concerts in Germany and abroad as well as guest performances as partner to leading instrumentalists in Europe, America and Asia. He acts as jury member in national and international competitions and lectures in master courses. He is Director of the International Mendelssohn Academy in Leipzig, which is a coveted destination for highly talented piano students from all over the world.
